I am a hard working, motivated, and determined student at San Diego State University who will be graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology this upcoming May. I am hoping to continue my education by attending graduate school and studying neuropsychology. I am interested in research relating to neuropsychology and I hope to work with and assist individuals with developmental disorders (such as Parkinson's, autism, etc.). I am currently an intern at Springall Academy (a school that works with special needs youth) and I hope to continue with this organization and gain more experience in the field of psychology before attending graduate school.
Being a research assistant for Dr. Marx has taught me how to apply the knowledge I have learned in psychology classes to real-world situations. It has helped me understand both the rewarding and more grueling aspects of research, including dealing with complicated data, being precise, formulating questions for a study, and discussing ideas with my fellow colleagues. It has also given me more insight into what graduate schools expect of students and how discussions in that environment take place. I hope to continue wherever my journey into the world of psychology takes me, with the ultimate goal of helping others with their mental health and making a difference in the world.
