I am currently a junior from Los Angeles, majoring in Psychology here at SDSU! This is my second semester involved in the STEEP lab program and I have enjoyed all the opportunities it has offered me this past year. Being in the STEPP program, I have enjoyed examining the impact role models have on underrepresented students in the STEM field through formulating surveys and providing critical feedback on a variety of studies. Within the research lab, I am highly invested in studying stereotype threats, the Latino community in the education system, and the effects of role models in the classroom setting.
Next year, I am looking forward to continue helping and being involved in the STEPP program to improve and strengthen the lab, becoming more involved in collecting and analyzing data. My other interests include working with at-risk youths, children with mental disabilities, cognitive development, and advising underrepresented students.
