I am currently a junior at SDSU, majoring in psychology. I am originally from Santa Cruz, California. This is my first semester in the STEPP lab. I joined this lab to better understand the inner workings of research in social psychology. I find the topic of examining and creating role models for underrepresented students in STEM majors to be fascinating and incredibly important. Stereotype threats in STEM are something that I have encountered in the classrooms and being a part of research that can help counteract those perceptions is important to me. I feel that being in the STEPP lab will help me further explore the field of social psychology, to which I can apply to future research.
