I am currently a first year graduate student in the MA Psychology program. Very excited to be joining the STEPP Lab team. As a first generation college graduate and the daughter of Mexican immigrants, mentors and role models have been a key part of my life. I recognize the impactful difference they have had by guiding and supporting me through my career pathway. For two years, I serviced the East San Jose community as a bilingual College Adviser and advocate for high school students. Through my role I have mentored and provided first generation high school students with the tools necessary to navigate spaces of higher education. I will now be transitioning from a role of direct service work into one that is research focused. I am passionate about contributing to the ongoing research that aims to improve the retention and experience in STEM pathways for underrepresented students.
