Undergraduate
Research Assistant
I am a sophomore at San Diego State University, and this is my first semester in the lab. I am interested in Industrial Organizational psychology, and I want to gain valuable research experience. What first made me become interested in this lab was when I learned about their research involving the stereotype threat and role model effect. I remember learning about it in my Psychology 101 course and I was intrigued about how the stereotype threat could have an effect on the academic performance and motivation of underrepresented minorities.

I hope to learn more about how to institute the role model effect to make a positive difference on underrepresented minorities’ academic performance. Additionally, I want to find out if research is a good fit for me and I look forward to continue being a part of the STEPP lab team.
